KINDER TOTS – SAFARI SENSATION!
We will explore what you would see on an African safari in this class by making a very cool safari sticker scene (with lots and lots of stickers!). Then we will “stamp our art out” by making a free-form jungle animal picture with stamps. Our book will be “Starry Safari” by Linda Ashman. A snack is provided.

SWING INTO SPRING!
Spring is here and we are in the mood to celebrate! Join us as we make a spring wind chime with cute spring accents and an adorable wooden “Welcome” sign that will help us to usher in our favorite season. Our book will be “Mouse’s First Spring” by Lauren Thompson. Snack and juice are included.

KINDER TOTS – OH MY OCTOPI!
The octopus is our favorite silly sea creature and we will make a couple super silly ones for this class. We will start by making a purple octopus windsock and then we will make a “very leggy” octopus picture. Our story will be “Good Thing You’re Not An Octopus” by Julie Markes. A snack is provided.

DON’T BUG ME!
Spring is the time that bugs start bugging us – we want to look at them, catch them and see what they’re doing. To help with this, we will make our own personalized bug jar. Then we will make a sand art bug magnet craft. Our story will by “My Little Love Bug” by Heidi Weimer. Snack and juice is provided.

KINDER TOTS – RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY!
Unfortunately…we have to have April showers to bring May flowers, so we might as well have some fun with it! We will make a cool umbrella picture using plastic strips and straw painting and then we’ll make a beautiful rainbow picture using rice! We will be painting so wear appropriate clothing. Our book will be “In the Rain with Baby Duck” by Amy Hest. A snack will be included.

OVER THE RAINBOW!
Rainbows always lift our spirits after a gloomy rain and we will make two unique ones in this class. First, we’ll make a “puffy” rainbow using tissue paper and then we will use some special shiny paint to make beautiful rainbow hanging decorations. Our story will be “What Makes a Rainbow” by Betty Ann Schwarz and we will have a yummy snack with juice.

KINDER TOTS – PRICKLY PORCUPINES!
Porcupines are strange beasts but they make great subjects for art! We will use two different techniques to make porcupine pictures this week. First, we’ll make “forkupines”, making a picture with paint & forks. Then we will use special porcupine ring painters to make colorful, textured porcupine pictures. Our story will be “A Porcupine Named Fluffy” by Helen Lester. Snack included.

CATCH OF THE DAY!
Join as we make two very unique fishy friends. First we will make a very unusual 3-D fish using craft sticks and glitter. Then we’ll make a very different hanging fish by decorating a plastic cup in a fun way. We will read “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” by Dr. Seuss and will have a snack and juice.

The spring flowers are beginning to bloom and tulips are all over! We will make a very colorful tulip using colored paper plates and our second project will be a very cute flower photo frame. PLEASE BRING A PICTURE OF YOUR CHILD’S FACE (APPROX. 3”) TO COMPLETE THE CRAFT. Our book will be “Flora’s Surprise” by Debi Gliori. Snack included.

CELEBRATE CINCO DE MAYO!
The Mexican holiday of Cinco De Mayo is coming up next week. We’ll get ready for the party by making a fun Fiesta sticker scene and a very colorful and unusual Mexican parade mask using colored straws. Our story will be “Diego’s Springtime Fiesta” by Lara Rice Bergen and we will have a snack and juice.

Everyone loves elephants and we will be making two really fun ones! First, we will make a “peanutty” pachyderm (note: we will be using real peanut shells) and then we will make a picture of Elmer, the colorful elephant. We will read “Elmer” by David McKee. Snack and juice are provided.
